Lionel Messi Probably Needs The Argentina Sabbatical After Jail Sentence

Lionel Messi was given a 21-month jail sentence for tax fraud. He likely won't serve it, but will still have to pay a hefty fine. This bit of bad news comes not too long after losing his third final in a row in an Argentina jersey and announcing his retirement from the national team. Like the jail sentence, the self-imposed retirement may not actually happen. When 2018 comes around, will he actually accept sitting on the sidelines as the World Cup starts in Russia? Personally, I don't think so.
But a break from the Argentine setup is probably a good idea. It's simple, he needs time away to clear his head and Argentina isn't giving him good feelings. Plus, he can rest a lot more as his body gets older. He used to travel wherever, whenever for the national team to play in exotic locales against middling opposition just to make the FA, an FA he sees as questionable, richer. Even then he seemed to play his heart out, and tire his legs out even more.
It's time to give that a rest. He's entitled to take a break and come back in a way that very few players in the world are (I can think of three - Cristiano Ronaldo, Luis Suarez, and the now-retired-from-international-play-but-probably-for-good Zlatan Ibrahimovic.)
Let him clear his head and rest his legs in the international breaks. It's for the better.

FC Barcelona have decided to exercise the buy back clause for the player Denis Suárez, currently at Villarreal CF, which will see the player join the Club for the next four seasons with an option for a fifth depending on the number of appearances in the fourth season.
FC Barcelona have deposited 3,250,000 euros for the right to buy back the player.
The buy out clause for the players has been set at 50 million Euros.
Denis Suárez will undergo a medical on Tuesday and at 2.00pm CET he will be outside the Club offices for a short photo session.
The signing of the contract and the official presentation of the footballer as a new FC Barcelona player is programmed for Wednesday:
At 11.00am, signing of the contract in the first tier of the stand at Camp Nou.
At 11.30am, presentation in the Ricard Maxenchs press room.
At 1.00pm, photo session on the field at Camp Nou.
The general public can access the stadium for the photo session between 12.30pm and 1.30pm

His career so far
Denis Suárez will wear the Barça shirt once more, just as he did during the 2013/14 season for Barça B. The 22 year old is a talented midfielder who comes to FC Barcelona to strengthen the squad in the middle of the park and is the first signing of the season 2016/17 for the Club.
Suárez returns after spells at Sevilla and Villarreal. For Barça B he scored 7 goals and recorded 11 assists in his 36 matches. That brought him to the attention of the Andalusians and his spell there allowed the man from Galicia to develop as a player, also adding the Europa League title to his list of honours.
The following season Suárez signed for Villarreal with the Club maintaining the buy out that they have now exercised. At Villarreal he played 48 times, 36 as a starter, scoring five goals and recording 11 assists.

Ryan giggs departs manchester united: see reactions and comments

Ryan Giggs has departed his role as Manchester United's assistant manager, ending an association with the club that lasted nearly three decades.
The news was confirmed by United on Saturday via their official website. The announcement included a statement from Giggs, which read in part:
"After 29 seasons at Manchester United as a player and assistant manager, I know winning is in the DNA of this club—giving youth a chance, and playing attacking and exciting football. It's healthy to have high expectations, it's right to expect to win. Manchester United expects, deserves, nothing less.
This is why it is a huge decision for me to step away from the club that has been my life since the age of 14. It has not been a decision that I have made lightly. I'll take away so many special memories as well as a lifetime of experiences that will, I hope, serve me well in the future.
However, the time feels right and, although I have no immediate plans to step into management, it is where I want to be."

Club executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward also provided comments to the website about the decision:

The Welshman arrived at Old Trafford as a youngster in 1987 and went on to make 963 appearances for the team. As a player, he won 13 Premier League titles, two UEFA Champions League trophies and four FA Cups.
Following David Moyes' sacking, Giggs became the interim player-manager for the final four games of the 2013-14 season.
