Referee Attacked by Fans During DCMP vs. Dauphin Noir Match in DR Congo

A referee in the Democratic Republic of Congo was attacked by a group of pitch invaders during the play-off match between DCMP and Dauphin Noir at the weekend.
The attack left one of the match officials needing a stretcher and unable to walk, as noted by Darragh Murphy of Joe.co.uk.

The referee attempted to flee the melee when the fans invaded the field, but he was tackled and set upon by a large group of the supporters before riot police were able to come to his aid.
"Substantial damage" was done to the stadium with seats ripped out and smashed on the field and windows at the arena's main entrance broken.
